Congenital condition, recognized by an unusually thickened or shortened frenum, which restricts movement of the lip. This can affect feeding, speech, and maintaining dental health.
Untreated infants often cannot latch to breastfeed due to the inability of the lip to flare creating a suction. For this reason, we strive to treat infants as early as possible to aid mothers in their goals to breastfeed.
